Main Duties & Responsibilities
Job Summary: Provides administrative and clerical support to all functional areas of Human Resources.
This would include maintaining and updating all files and records pertaining to: personnel, salary
administration, health benefits, 401(k), short term and long term disability plans, FMLA, safety training
and career development, position descriptions, reporting headcount, tracking of vacation hours, inputting
employee / wage data into Empower, reviewing temp billing, reporting temp hours to agency, and positive
employee relations. Serve as backup receptionist as needed. High degree of confidentiality and attention to
details are necessary.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
* Processes changes in employee status, pay, benefits, etc. by completing correct employee change form,
getting correct approval signatures, ensuring data is complete/accurate, entering data sending to affected
departments / sending correct change forms to TriMas Payroll in a timely fashion.
* Answers questions regarding employee health, welfare, and service programs by explaining regular administrative
procedures or common problems. Assists new employees with enrollment and dependent verification process.
* Act as a liaison with the TriMas Benefit Service Center (TBSC) to help resolve employee health, welfare, and
service programs.
* Files relevant employee-related documentation. Maintains employee personnel and benefit files and
records in an orderly and current fashion.
* Responds to questions from outside authorized persons and agencies with respect to employee data by
examining employee files and records, referring unusual requests to Director of HR.
* Work with the Director of HR to assist with the planning, communicating, and tracking of company
wide special events throughout the year.
* Administer pre-employment screening/background checks for full-time applicants and review
temporary applicants and communicate approval to the respective temporary agencies.
* Manages temporary employee module for accurate Norris/ temporary headcount and labor reporting.
* Conducts new employee orientation, safety orientation and benefit orientation.
* Assist with screening resumes as needed, assist with hiring when necessary, and creating or updating
job descriptions as needed.
* Ensure that all necessary forms and documentations are completed for any workers compensation
claims, short term or long term disability claims, Affirmative Action and FMLA. Ensure that all parties

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred. Two to
three years experience supporting a Human Resources Department or equivalent. PC experience using
Microsoft Office and other common personnel tracking data bases is necessary. High degree of
confidentiality is necessary.
