I. JOB OVERVIEW






Job Description Summary:
Established in 1865, The George Washington University Law School is the oldest in Washington, DC. The school is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a charter member of the Association of American Law Schools. The law school is located on the GW campus in the downtown neighborhood familiarly known as Foggy Bottom.

The Program Associate will be expected to support the Government Procurement Law Program in a range of duties. The Program Associate, Government Procurement Law will have the opportunity to engage in research and writing on government procurement law, ethics, anti-corruption, and compliance, and related subjects, and to seek publication of that work.

The Program Associate, Government Procurement Law Duties will include:

  • Helping to deepen the partnership between GW Law, DII, and the defense industry by updating DII's compliance toolkits and educational resources.
  • Assisting with organizing webinars and other events.
  • Producing white papers and other written materials relating to integrity and compliance in defense.
  • Creating new opportunities for students to engage with DII and its members.
  • Conducting innovative research in government procurement integrity and compliance issues.
  • Advising students on curricular design, careers in anti-corruption and compliance, and the defense industry.
  • Coordinating administrative aspects of co-hosted events with DII, including webinars and conferences.


Performs other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:

  • A J.D. or LL.M. degree with coursework related to Government Procurement Law is preferred.
  • Strong administrative, academic, research, and writing skills is desired.
  • Enjoys interacting with & helping students.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Drive, and similar operating systems is a plus.
  • Attentive to details.
  • Ability to be agile, skilled in prioritizing multiple assignments, and the ability to apply project management skills in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with faculty, students, and staff in a team environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.

Hiring Range $52,741.91 - $72,476.48
