| Professional Experience/ Qualifications |
- Experience in designing, planning and executing complex AV event programs.
- Deep understanding of AV equipment for determining the needs of clients to support events.
- Expert knowledge in the use of digital non-linear editing techniques and tools.
- Expert knowledge editing and producing audio projects and programming.
- An advanced understanding of video and audio formats and standards with the ability to convert between appropriate formats.
- An advanced understanding of the principles of video and audio production including the use of studio cameras, ENG cameras, portable sound systems, lighting and location selection.
- An advanced understanding of live streaming techniques, tools, software applications and bandwidth requirements.
- Advanced knowledge in the proper use and care of 35mm and 16mm film projection equipment.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience working in Higher Education is preferred
- Extron programming experience highly preferred.

Associates degree in Information Technology, Electronics, Communications or a related field highly desirable. |
| Certifications |
- A current valid driver's license, in accordance with the University's Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Use Policy is required.
Required to pass the following annual mandatory training, but not limited to:
- Asbestos Awareness
- Ladder Safety
- Scaffolding Safety
- Safe lifting/Back Injury Prevention
Required training prior to initial use and designated refresher training, but not limited to:

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Colgate University and
SEIU Local 200United Libraries, Mail Services and IT Technicians.

| Accountabilities |
Serves as a member of a team providing direct support to academic programs and administrative departments to ensure the sound delivery of video and audio programming, presentations, classroom content and other digital media.
- Accountable for serving as a lead with other team members and IT technicians. Responsible for assisting in the development of work procedures and training others. Responsible for providing on the job guidance to others, maintaining quality control and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Accountable for leading in the preparation, planning and deployment of AV components in support of all campus events including large sound systems, video cameras, live streaming equipment and supporting software.
- Accountable for compiling footage, digitizes, edits and exports video and audio in support of faculty projects, events and ITS requests.
- Accountable for the production of video and audio content with a high degree of quality and finish.
- Accountable for supporting students and staff in the audio and video production studios to assure the proper use of equipment.
- Leads film operations (including 35mm and 16mm projection) and provides student technicians with appropriate training and supervision, as required.
- Coordinates the planning and design of complex productions including camera and lighting placement, the use of appropriate microphones and set design.
- Leads regularly scheduled or limited scope projects as assigned.
- Accountable for documentation of client interactions, incidents and requests.
- Accountable for communication about problems and resolutions according to defined standards of practice.

While subject to change based on the needs of the University, the typical schedule is:
Monday through Friday: 8:00AM - 4:30PM.
40 hours per week, 12 months per year.
Some evening and weekend work is required for supporting events. |
