This is the side of the Stellantis propulsion functional safety organization, the European and North American teams aim at ensuring the safety of the calibrated propulsion control system, for every region where Stellantis vehicles are sold. Moreover, the teams lead the execution of all safety and diagnostic activities for the different programs and are the propulsion safety primary contact to the different Project chiefs. Within this scope, this propulsion functional safety and diagnostic organization:
- Ensures that the powertrain, its Control & its calibrations are designed & validated, in accordance with the ISO26262 and to the regional safety requirements.
- Ensures the OBD conformity of the Powertrains control, worldwide (Europe, North America, China, etc.)
- Warrants that the propulsion system can be diagnosed in plant and efficiently repaired in Aftersales.
The SDO Manager plays a key role which will embody the responsibility of safety manager within this organization for the program they are assigned. The SDO Manager will ensure the delivery of a comprehensive superset of safety / OBD / Diagnosability requirements allocated to the different components (e.g. to electrical Motor, to HV-battery, to Charger, ...) and to the overall propulsion control. The SDO Manager will monitor the complete fulfilment of all deliverables, supported by their colleagues of the safety and diagnostics organization and report the progress to the propulsion Controls Manager and to the Project Chief.
