Job Summary

The Royalty Compliance Analystis responsible for supporting royalty compliance, licensing operations, and accounts receivable collections activities. This role combines financial analysis, contract review, royalty reporting, collections management, and customer account resolution. The consultant will work closely with finance teams, licensing partners, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure contractual compliance, accurate royalty reporting, timely collections, and resolution of financial discrepancies. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Review licensing agreements and contracts to validate financial terms and royalty obligations.
  • Analyze royalty statements and compare reported activity against contractual requirements.
  • Investigate discrepancies and trace financial transactions throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Identify root causes of reporting, payment, and compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support internal teams with royalty statement processing and reporting issues.
  • Assist external partners and licensees with statement submission corrections and compliance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot system access issues and reporting inquiries.
  • Manage accounts receivable collections activities and resolve outstanding balances.
  • Contact customers and licensees regarding open invoices, compliance matters, and payment resolutions.
  • Maintain collection records and reason codes for outstanding receivables.
  • Monitor expected cash receipts and follow up on overdue balances.
  • Support month-end close activities and financial reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate withholding tax documentation and related compliance activities.
  • Assist with unapplied cash research and payment reconciliation.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from finance, sales, and operational stakeholders.
  • Prepare management reports, analysis, and special project deliverables as assigned.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and operational efficiency.


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to review, interpret, and understand contractual language.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining awareness of broader business objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency with financial systems, reporting tools, and business applications.


Work Experience



  • 3-5 years of relevant licensing, royalty compliance, collections, finance, accounting, or operations experience required.
  • Experience within the licensing industry strongly preferred.
  • Experience in operations finance, accounting, or operations management preferred.
  • Cash collections and accounts receivable experience preferred.
  • Royalty accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience within music, publishing, media, entertainment, or consumer products industries is highly desirable.
  • Experience researching and resolving complex financial discrepancies preferred.
