The Risk Management Group's Operational Risk team provides independent oversight of operational risk across Macquarie's Commodities and Global Markets (CGM) business in the Americas, covering a variety of services, including capital and financing, risk management, market access, physical execution, and logistics solutions. It operates across commodities, financial markets, and asset finance. The team partners closely with front-office, operations, and risk stakeholders to strengthen control environments and support safe, sustainable business growth.
While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 3 days a week in our office location.

What role will you play?

This role is responsible for developing an independent, technically robust, and practical view of the operational risk profile across capital markets activities, with a focus on FX, futures, and financing flows. Leveraging front-to-back experience, you will challenge trade lifecycle processes and drive tangible improvements in control effectiveness. You will deliver commercially grounded insights, perform deep dives into high-risk areas, and support remediation efforts to enhance risk management outcomes.
Salary range for this position: $161,000 - $217,000/Year. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. What you offer

  • A minimum of 5 years of capital markets background with exposure to FX, futures, or listed derivatives
  • Front-to-back understanding of trade lifecycle processes, including execution, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation
  • Proven ability to assess control design and identify gaps across complex operational processes
  • Experience analyzing incidents, issues, and data to identify trends and systemic control weaknesses
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and influence outcomes
