DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
This position provides maintenance services that support skilled work across several trades, with a primary focus on carpentry at South Mountain Restoration Center. The role includes completing skilled and semi-skilled projects in the carpentry shop, along with work in plumbing, electrical repair, painting, air conditioning, and refrigeration. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Carpentry Tasks: Repair doors and furniture, construct partitions, and operate woodworking tools
- Skilled Trades Work: Perform tasks in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, air conditioning, and refrigeration as assigned
- Building Maintenance: Complete drywall, plaster, painting, flooring, masonry, roofing, siding, and general structural repair work
- Equipment Repair: Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, pumps, generators, fixtures, and various facility equipment
- Grounds Care: Remove snow, cut grass, and operate basic grounds and outdoor equipment
- Record Keeping: Maintain preventive maintenance records and schedules

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
- You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
