DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position helps the Cambria County Maintenance Organization keep facilities clean, safe, and in good repair through custodial work, grounds care, and routine maintenance tasks. Your primary responsibilities will entail preserving equipment, supporting daily operations, and maintaining safe working conditions. As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Custodial Tasks: Clean floors, furniture, lavatories, and work areas while keeping facilities orderly
  • Grounds Work: Maintain outdoor areas through mowing, raking, landscaping, and snow removal
  • Basic Repairs: Perform simple carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general building repairs
  • Equipment Care: Use and maintain tools properly and report missing or damaged items to the supervisor
  • Safety Practices: Follow safety procedures, use protective equipment, and maintain awareness of hazards
  • Operational Support: Deliver supplies, assist skilled workers, and complete assignments based on supervisor direction

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
    • Hours may vary due to operational or seasonal requirements.
  • Occasional overtime and travel may be required.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
