Overview
Supports and manages the Health Economics roadmap for affordability, population, product, market, or performance domains. Leads and project manages cross-functional Health Economics initiatives from intake through execution, including defining scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, stakeholder communications, and follow-up actions to ensure work is delivered on time and aligned to business priorities. Partners with Finance, Actuarial, Clinical, Operations, Data Science, and Health Economics teams to translate business priorities into actionable analytic requirements, recurring decision-support products, and workflow improvements. Prioritizes Health Economics work based on business impact, resource constraints, actionability, and alignment with Finance monthly close, forecasting, medical expense management, clinical initiatives, affordability, and value-based payment arrangements. Assist Health Econ team to translate complex analyses into clear, executive-ready insights and helps convert findings into actions, interventions, and performance monitoring for current and prospective VNS Health members. Works under limited supervision.

What You Will Do:
- Supports and manages the Health Economics roadmap for affordability, population, product, market, or performance domains. Navigates managing shorter term agile work from existing business cadences from larger scale projects that need long term planning.
- Leads intake and problem-framing discussions with Finance, Actuarial, Clinical, Operations, Data Science, Technology, Network, and other stakeholders to define business questions, end users, timing, requirements, and expected outcomes. * Prioritizes Health Economics requests and initiatives based on financial impact, strategic alignment, urgency, actionability, reusability, and resource constraints.
- Partners with Finance and Actuarial teams to align Health Economics deliverables with monthly close, forecasting, budgeting, variance explanation, and leadership reporting workflows. * Translates clinical, actuarial, financial, utilization, membership, and operational analyses into clear and actionable business insights through executive-ready reports, tables, visualizations, presentations, and narratives.
- Identifies opportunities to convert recurring ad hoc analyses into scalable analytic products, dashboards, reporting packages, models, or automated workflows.
- Works with Health Economics, Data Science, and analytics teams to develop analytic plans, define data requirements, document methodology, and ensure outputs are fit for purpose.
- Facilitates cross-functional alignment on metric definitions, data interpretation, priorities, risks, and recommended actions.
- Helps turn insights into actions, interventions, pilots, operational changes, or strategic decisions by identifying business owners, next steps, success measures, and monitoring plans.
- Tracks whether Health Economics insights lead to documented decisions, implemented actions, or explicit no-action decisions and supports value realization monitoring.
- Communicates ongoing performance, risks, opportunities, roadmap status, and initiative progress to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Provides guidance and support to analysts and cross-functional team members on prioritization, product ownership, stakeholder communication, and business translation
- Supports execution of large-scale projects with general direction from leadership. Including quarterly planning and alignment with other teams where dependencies exist
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Health Economics, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Epidemiology, Health Administration, Business, Public Health or other related degree required Master's Degree in Health Economics, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Epidemiology, Health Administration, Business, Public Health or other related degree preferred
Work Experience:
- Minimum of five years of experience working in health plan operations, health economics, medical economics,
- healthcare analytics, healthcare finance, actuarial analysis, managed care, or related healthcare setting required
- Experience with medical claims, eligibility, utilization, revenue, membership, or healthcare financial performance data required
- Experience translating business needs into analytic requirements, user stories, product roadmaps, dashboards, recurring reports, decision-support tools, or workflow improvements required
- Experience partnering with Finance, Actuarial, Clinical, Operations, Data Science, Technology, or other cross-functional stakeholders to deliver analytic insights and business recommendations required
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing requests based on business impact, urgency, actionability, reusability, and resource constraints required
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex analyses into executive-ready narratives, visualizations, and actionable recommendations required
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, Managed Long-Term Care (MLTC), risk adjustment, value-based payment arrangements, provider performance, clinical programs, or healthcare payment policy required
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects or workstreams, including developing project plans, coordinating stakeholders, tracking milestones and risks, and driving deliverables to completion in a healthcare, analytics, finance, or managed care environment. required
- Experience supporting monthly close, forecasting, budgeting, medical cost trend management, variance analysis, or financial performance reporting preferred Experience in a managed care organization, payer, provider, value-based care, healthcare consulting, or healthcare services organization preferred
- Experience using SQL, R, Python preferred
Pay Range
USD $109,900.00 - USD $146,500.00 /Yr.
