Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Cardiovascular Sonographer 3 to join the team. This role will be full-time, day shift, days vary will include some weekends. Sign-on Bonus & Relocation assistance eligible.

Cardiovascular Sonographer 3 Job Responsibilities:

  • The Cardiovascular Sonographer 3 is a very experienced clinician who performs highly complex and advanced diagnostic cardiovascular ultrasound studies and serves as a recognized clinical leader within the department. This role demonstrates exceptional technical proficiency, critical thinking, and independent clinical judgment, and is relied upon for handling high-acuity, specialized, and problem-focused examinations.
  • Functions as a subject matter expert, actively supports physicians in exam optimization and interpretation, participates / leads quality and performance improvement efforts, mentors and trains staff. This position plays a key role in advancing clinical quality, patient experience, and professional practice standards across the organization.
  • Acts as a preceptor and resource for students, echo sonographers and fellows.
  • Assist departmental leadership in obtaining or maintaining IAC accreditation.
  • Fulfills and maintains Career Ladder requirements as described by the Inova Sonography Career Ladder Program.
  • Utilizes advanced imaging skillsets such as 3D, Strain, Contrast use and assists cardiologist with TEE studies. Performs 3D imaging with manipulation of 3D image analysis independently or with physician assistance.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical, setting. Sonography or five years of specialized training in a hospital/healthcare.
  • Certification:
    • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association upon start
    • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS); OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer (RCS) required upon start
  • Experience: 4 years or more of experience in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of cardiac or vascular sonography
