Our team is searching for a dynamic
Field Solutions Engineer
with a strong background in aircraft conceptual or preliminary design to join our Field Solutions Engineering team, with a dedicated focus on customer enablement and training. Our most active strategic customers today are in Aerospace & Defense, designing air vehicles, and we're looking for an engineer who has worked inside that world and wants to bring that expertise to a broader set of customers and design challenges. In this role, you will own the end-to-end learning experience for our customers, developing curriculum, delivering training virtually and onsite, and partnering closely with Product to ensure enablement content reflects the latest features, best practices, and messaging. You will bridge our customers' learning needs and nTop's product capabilities, driving adoption and long-term success across our customer base.
This role is remote, and reports into the Manager, Customer Enablement & Field Strategy.
What You Will Do:
Customer Training & Enablement Delivery
- Plan, develop, and deliver structured training programs for new and existing customers across virtual and onsite formats
- Design and maintain role-based learning paths and curriculum tailored to customer personas (e.g., design engineers, simulation analysts)
- Facilitate onboarding sessions for new accounts
- Adapt training content to address varying skill levels-from introductory users to advanced practitioners working with FEA, CFD, and design automation workflows
- Respond to ad hoc training requests and identify opportunities to deepen product adoption during customer engagements
Enablement Content Development
- Build and maintain a library of high-quality enablement assets including tutorials, how-to guides, workflow walkthroughs, video content, and self-service learning materials
- Translate complex nTop capabilities into clear, accessible learning content appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Continuously update and refresh content in response to product releases, new features, and evolving best practices
- Develop internal enablement materials to support onboarding of new Field Engineering team members
Product & Enablement Alignment
- Partner with the Product team to stay current on the nTop roadmap, new feature releases, and updated messaging, ensuring all training materials reflect the most accurate and up-to-date information
- Provide structured feedback loops from training engagements back to Product and Customer Success, surfacing common knowledge gaps, workflow friction points, and user needs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Account Executives, Customer Success Managers, and Marketing to align enablement strategy with go-to-market initiatives
- Contribute to the development of external-facing content such as webinars, conference workshops, and product education campaigns
Required Experience:
- Current or recent experience in aircraft conceptual or preliminary design, or a closely related discipline (e.g., aerostructures, propulsion integration, vehicle-level sizing and tradeoff studies, MDO)
- A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related Engineering discipline, plus 3+ years of industry experience (highly relevant doctoral degrees can be substituted for three years)
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technical software quickly; prior experience with nTop, parametric CAD, or computational design tools is valuable, but we will invest in ramping the right engineer on our platform
- Experience with scripting in Python, Excel/VBA
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfortable presenting in front of large audiences and senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated level of autonomy and responsibility in handling time-sensitive critical projects
- Demonstrated experience developing or delivering training, documentation, or educational content in a professional setting
- Willing to travel to conferences and customer sites (up to 50%)
It's A Plus If You Also Have These:
- Experience with nTop software
- Project management experience
- Security clearance
- Experience with FEA and/or CFD (at least one of: Abaqus, Ansys, Fluent/CFX, Nastran, Star-CCM+, LS-DYNA)
- Proficiency in parametric modeling & 3D CAD (Siemens NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, Onshape)
- Experience with Conceptual design, Analysis, or MDO. Especially in Aerospace Engineering
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to traditional GTM/SaaS teams & processes
- Experience with conference presentations, training workshops, and other industry-related public speaking engagements.
- Exposure to design optimization, surrogate modeling, or AI/ML for inverse design applications
Compensation
- Between 135,000-180,000 annually plus equity and benefits, depending on level and experience
