Operating Budget, $25 million. Capital Program, $3.7 million. Manager directs the following; Administration, Finance, Police, Fire (paid), Public Works, Planning, Codes, Sewers, Refuse and Recycling. The Manager Ordinance is strong. Professional, competent, dedicated staff. Cumru Township is located in Central East Pennsylvania adjacent to Reading, the 4th largest city in Pennsylvania. It is a 60 minute drive to Philadelphia. Cumrus size is 21 square miles. Population is 16,000+. Cumru is a good mix of some urban, suburban, and rural development. It is also the site of Nolde Forest, a Pennsylvania State Park. Alvernia University is located close to Cumru. There is a wide variety of family housing in the Township and the surrounding area. Median family income is $91,000. Median age is 43.5. Cumru is aggressively working on revitalization and new development. The Board is goal oriented and forward looking. Cumru is seeking an experienced municipal manager who enjoys challenges and innovation and who is a team-oriented manager. Ideally, the individual will have experience with new land use and economic development. Bachelors Degree required. Masters preferred. Five (5) years municipal Manager or Assistant Manager experience preferred. Ten (10) years of successful municipal management experience of an increasingly responsible nature considered. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
