JoinadynamicgroupofElectricalPowersystemengineersresponsibleforthedesign,developmentandintegrationofPowersubsystemfortheworld'spremierland-basedcombatvehicleproducer.PositionTitle:PowerSystemDesignSeniorEngineerThePowersystemteamispartoftheSystemEngineeringgroupatGDLS.Ourmissionistoinvestigate,design,develop,andintegrateelectricalpowersubsystemcapabilitiesforthecurrentandnextgenerationofvehicleplatforms.Theteamworkswithinlargersystemsgroupwithresponsibilityandauthoritytodeliverdesignrequirements,performanalysis,guidethehardwareandsoftwaredesignteamswiththegoalofintegratingandtestingthematthesubsystemandvehiclelevel.

  • DevelopCAEmodelsforcomplexhybridelectricsystems-IntegrationofHVBattery,ISG,E-Motor,DC/DCs,powerdistributiondevicesintoaPowersubsystemmodel
  • CreationandintegrationofCAEmodelsintoapowersubsystemmodeltodynamicallyevaluatesystemperformanceforvariousexternalfactors(Drivecycles,tolerances,loadingprofiles,environmentalandroadloadconditionsetc.)
  • Performacomponentandsystemsizinganalysisforvariousconditionsbasedoncustomerrequirements
  • Understandingoffeatures/systemsrequirementsandtheabilitytotranslatetherequirementsintovalidationtestproceduresandusecases
  • Providedirectionforteammembersincludingtechnologyroadmapsandmentorship.
  • Approve/Developdocumentation,SSDD,SRS,CANICDsandotherartifactsforimplementationtothepowerhardwareproductionteam
  • Participateininternalandcustomerdemonstrations
  • Workcloselywithcrossfunctionalmembersoftheengineeringorganizationtodevelopandevaluatecriticalinterfaces,usecases,drivecyclesprofiles,operationalperformancerequirements,anddesignoftheoverallsystem
  • Participateinpeerreviews,identify,trackandassesssolutionstodefects
  • ConductresearchandevaluationofemergingtechnologiesinHybridElectricSystems(HVBatteries,E-motors,Powerelectronicdevicesandarchitectures,methodologies,andintegrationstrategies

PositionRequirements:
  • Bachelor'sorMaster'sinElectricalEngineering,ElectricalPowerSystemsorrelatedtechnicalfield
  • 10yearsplusinarelatedroleisdesired.
  • Experiencewithelectricalpowersystems(Powergeneration,powerdistribution,powermanagementandenergystorage)ofmilitaryorautomotivevehicles,includingspecifications,development,design,testing,integrationandtroubleshootingofvehicleelectricalpowersystemandtheirassociatedhardwarecomponentsisrequired.
  • Strongknowledgewithhybridelectricalarchitecturesandsystemintegrationwithdifferentvoltages
  • StrongbackgroundinmodelingandsimulationofElectricalsystems
  • Strongbackgroundinmodelgeneratedcodingapplications,i.e.Matlab/SimulinkandAnsys
  • Comfortablewithsupportingintegrationissuesinalabandonavehicle.
