Engineering Technician, Equipment, Cell Engineering

Tesla is accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy, and we're looking for a dedicated Equipment Engineering Technician to join our Cell Engineering team in Louisville, Colorado. In this role, you will ensure maximum uptime and reliability of next-generation battery cell pilot production and R&D equipment. You'll be hands-on in building, debugging, commissioning, maintaining, and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, automation, and robotics systems in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position is ideal for someone passionate about rapid problem-solving, equipment ownership, and contributing directly to Tesla's battery technology scale-up.

• Build, install, commission, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical systems on state-of-the-art cell manufacturing equipment
• Troubleshoot complex issues using root cause analysis and drive effective recovery from machine breakdowns
• Perform hands-on work with automation, robotics, fixtures, and tooling
• Collaborate closely with engineers to optimize equipment performance, reliability, and throughput
• Document maintenance activities, issues, and improvements clearly
• Work in a dynamic environment that includes tight spaces, extended standing, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on technical experience
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Strong familiarity with mechanical mechanisms, automation equipment, and troubleshooting
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical work
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort working under tight deadlines
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
