East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) is seeking skilled individuals with power generation or industrial electrical experience for an immediate Electrical Technician opening at the Pardee Center Office, located in Valley Springs, CA.
Join a knowledgeable and motivated team dedicated to performing high-quality preventative, predictive, and corrective electrical maintenance and testing in support of EBMUD's hydroelectric power operations. Duties include maintaining, testing, repairing and installing hydroelectric and high-voltage electrical and electronic circuits, motors, controls and equipment, with additional responsibilities supporting a wide variety of other civil/municipal infrastructure. Electrical Technicians typically spend a large portion of time working on field assignments.
The ideal candidate will have high voltage (<7.5K volts but can be up to 230kv) electrical experience maintaining and/or constructing switchgear, MCC's, VFD's, electric motors, controls, power distribution, and lighting systems similar to those found at EBMUD.
The Electrical Technician monthly salary range starts at $11,310 increasing to $11,876, $12,470, and $13,094 after 12, 24, and 36 months, respectively.

1.High school diploma or its equivalent.
2a.Sixteen months' experience comparable to the District's Electrical Worker III classification, including satisfactory completion of the appropriate courses and advanced on-the-job training, as specified in the District's Trades Training Program OR
2b.Attainment of recognized journey level status as an Electrician in general electrical installation and repair work.
3.Possession of a valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
4.Ability to perform the critical and important duties of the job, including sufficient agility to climb to a height of 65 feet, sufficient strength to lift and maneuver, with assistance, equipment and materials weighing up to 90 lbs. including conduit or pipe, and sufficient color vision to differentiate cable color coding.
5.Willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, and overtime when required.

4.Those candidates scoring highest on the written test will be invited to a practical exercise and panel interview expected to be held the week of July 13th at Pardee Center/Valley Springs.
5.Successful candidates will be ranked on a hiring list for further consideration to fill the current regular vacancy, as well as others that may occur over the next 12 to 24 months for the Pardee group.
6.The probation period for this position is 12 months. For those holding civil service status the probation period is 6 months.
