Area Sales Manager, MRD

Will be responsible for:

The Area Sales Manager, MRD plays a critical role in advancing Myriad's oncology strategy by leading a high-performing sales team focused on MRD and Somatic testing. This leader will drive regional execution, build strong customer relationships, and develop talent to deliver sustained growth.

In close partnership with the MRD National Sales Director, this role is responsible for recruiting, coaching, and leading a team of account executives while aligning day-to-day execution with broader business objectives. The ideal candidate brings both strategic perspective and a hands-on approach to driving results in a dynamic environment.

This position supports a defined sales region and includes regular regional and occasional national travel.

Business Planning

  • Develop a deep understanding of the national business strategy and lead execution to achieve key objectives
  • Execute national account targeting strategies in alignment with business priorities
  • Partner with customers to assess needs and identify opportunities for growth
  • Build and strengthen strategic customer relationships while setting clear development goals
  • Monitor strategy effectiveness and adjust approach as needed to drive results
  • Ensure performance expectations are consistently met

Operations & Administration

  • Review and approve expense reports in a timely manner
  • Optimize resource allocation to support profitability and business goals
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of administrative requirements
  • Champion consistent and effective use of CRM tools, including Salesforce

People Leadership & Development

  • Provide ongoing coaching and development through regular field engagement and feedback
  • Align team goals with broader business priorities and performance expectations
  • Establish a consistent cadence of check-ins to support focus, accountability, and results
  • Support the creation and execution of development plans to help team members grow and advance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree a plus
  • Proven sales leadership experience in diagnostic or molecular testing (5+ years)
  • 10+ years of sales experience across diagnostic testing, molecular testing, medical devices, or specialty pharmaceuticals
  • Experience with MRD or similar technologies preferred
  • Knowledge of oncology specialties preferred
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70%

Physical Requirements

Lifting Requirements - light work or exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical Requirements - stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, pushing or pulling, and reaching. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
