Job Summary

The Florida International University, in Miami, Florida is seeking a Data Analyst II for the Office of Analysis & Information Management. Duties and responsibilities include transforming and aggregating raw institutional data from different sources including SQL databases, Excel spreadsheets, and enterprise systems, such as Peoplesoft, SAP and SharePoint into structured datasets suitable for advanced analysis, modeling, and reporting. The role involves conducting statistical analyses using SAS and Excel, developing predictive models, and performing forecasting to support strategic planning and performance evaluation. The analyst will be expected to generate, modify, and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate large datasets, ensuring data integrity and alignment with reporting objectives. Additionally, the position requires the creation of dynamic dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and Excel to communicate insights to stakeholders across academic and administrative units. The analyst will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making, contribute to the development of key performance indicators (KPIs), and assist in the evaluation of institutional initiatives. This role is situated within the Office of Analysis and Information Management, Department of Institutional Research, and supports the university's mission by delivering actionable intelligence through rigorous data analysis and reporting. Remote work/telecommuting is permitted.



Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science, with 2 years (24 months) of relevant experience in business intelligence and data modeling, or a Master's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science. Notwithstanding the degree, all applicants must have advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence, SQL, programming, and IT.
