Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond. Together, we advance your career.

THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to drive postsilicon product characterization, volume data analysis, and reliability assessment for advanced silicon programs. In this highly technical, individualcontributor role, you will own deep analysis of highvolume silicon data, characterize IP and system behavior across operating corners, model reliability risk, and lead fault isolation and failure analysis efforts.

You will partner closely with design, DFT, manufacturing, supplier, and product teams to translate silicon data into actionable insights that influence product readiness, margin decisions, supplier engagement, and executivelevel strategy.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is a deeply analytical product engineer who thrives in datarich environments and ambiguous problem spaces. You combine strong technical judgment with the ability to clearly communicate insights and influence decisions. You are comfortable engaging across engineering disciplines, working directly with suppliers, and presenting conclusions to executive audiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own analysis of largescale, highvolume silicon and manufacturing data to assess yield, performance, quality, and parametric distributions
  • Drive IPlevel and systemlevel silicon characterization across voltage, frequency, temperature, and stress conditions
  • Develop and apply reliability models (e.g., aging, degradation, wearout mechanisms) to inform product decisions and risk assessments
  • Lead fault isolation and failure analysis efforts, correlating electrical, physical, and manufacturing signatures to root causes
  • Partner with supplier and foundry teams to review data, resolve issues, and negotiate technical and quality tradeoffs
  • Provide datadriven recommendations on product readiness, guardbanding, test limits, and manufacturing strategies
  • Translate complex technical findings into clear, concise communication for senior technical leaders and executive stakeholders
  • Collaborate crossfunctionally with design, DFT, test, packaging, and product engineering teams to close data gaps and accelerate learning

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong experience with volume silicon data analysis, including yield trending, distribution analysis, correlation, and outlier isolation
  • Handson experience with IP characterization and silicon bringup across multiple operating modes and environments
  • Proven background in fault isolation and failure analysis, spanning electrical debug and physical failure mechanisms
  • Experience building or applying reliability and lifetime models to silicon data
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes through supplier engagement and technical negotiation
  • Strong executivelevel communication skills, with experience presenting complex databacked recommendations
  • Familiarity with advanced semiconductor process technologies, postsilicon validation flows, and highvolume manufacturing

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.

LOCATION:

Austin, TX
