Join our Construction & Infrastructure claims team as a Construction Claims Consultant based in Los Angeles. In this client-facing position, you'll act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing and coordinating liability claims with a high degree of professionalism and accuracy. Your efforts will be central to evaluating claims, organizing case details, and ensuring effective communication and timely resolutions.

This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work both virtually and from our LA office.

What the day will look like:

Your day typically starts with reviewing overnight updates on active liability claims and prioritizing those needing immediate attention. You'll spend significant time interacting with clients-addressing questions, providing updates, offering strategic guidance, and collaborating with your workers compensation advocate counterpart to get a full view of each client's claims profile.

Midday could involve working with internal Aon teams to tackle broader client inquiries and making sure clients are connected to the right subject matter experts. A big focus of this role is advocating for our clients to receive the broadest policy benefits and TPA and insurer adjuster service available. You'll also analyze claim trends, prepare reports, and participate in meetings or strategy sessions, all while staying centered on advocacy, responsiveness, and exceptional service for Aon's Construction & Infrastructure clients.

  • Maximizing claims service
  • Advocating for broader coverage
  • Advocating for expedited claim resolutions
  • Advocating for timely return of collateral
  • Identifying ways to reduce clients' total cost of risk
  • Collaborating with carriers to lower client experience modification factors
  • Working with risk control colleagues to promote project safety
  • Collaborating with Aon resources to address claims and operational issues
  • Coordinating with claims and broking teams to identify optimal coverage and align terms to client needs

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 10+ years of experience with Liability Claims, focusing on Construction and/or Infrastructure clients in Illinois and the Midwest with an emphasis on the Western region
  • Strong client facing abilities, including effective presentations and communications skills
  • In-depth knowledge of industry carrier underwriting claims practices and processes
  • Proven leadership and teamwork and collaboration skills, with a focus on exceeding client expectations
  • Excellent organizational skills and a collaborative working style
  • Experience in resource deployment and utilization management
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort interacting at various levels
  • Success in fast-paced, dynamic environments requiring multitasking
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and pivot tables
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $120,000 - $185,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
