As an Infection Preventionist you are at the heart of the Clinical Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Avantara Chicago Ridge. The Infection Preventionist is responsible for the facility prevention and control program (IPCP), which is designed to provide a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment and to help prevent the development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections. The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct our infection control program and its activities in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern such programs, and Standard IC 1:1 Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for LTC facilities of the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organization (JCAHO)

To be eligible for consideration applicants:

1. Must possess, as a minimum, a nursing degree from an accredited college, university or school of nursing, and a current unencumbered Illinois RN or LPN license in good standing.

2. If not a nurse, must have primary training in medical technology, microbiology, epidemiology, or other related field.

3. Must compete the required Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Certification Course as approved by CDC.
