CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Engineering Designer to join our Water Team in Blacksburg, VA. In this role, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of water, wastewater, and sewer projects for municipalities and industrial clients of varying sizes-supporting dependable, sustainable infrastructure solutions that make a meaningful impact.



What You'll Do:

    Leads the research, preparation, and creation of various types of contract or construction drawings for water, wastewater, and sewer projects using REVIT, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D
  • Mentor junior and mid-level designers, ensuring quality and consistency across all project work
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to support project requirements, schedules, and budgets
  • Participate in project review meetings and support the preparation of technical reports, material costs, and construction estimates
  • Prepare project "As-Builts" documentation and support field assignments as needed


What You Bring:

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, or related technical field required
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in document production within the engineering discipline required
  • Proficiency in discipline-based software (REVIT, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative work ethic
  • Solid working knowledge of engineering discipline
  • Ability to lead design drawing layout

Salary Range:

$47.59 - $58.17

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
