Assist the Retail Division and Support teams in achieving accurate, consistent reporting and compliance relative to excise taxes and other accounting functions.

What you'll do as a Product Tax Supervisor:

  • Prepare, file and pay product excise taxes and other taxes as needed.
  • Supervise and train accounting department clerical staff and interns.
  • Provide support and back-up to the Product Tax Compliance Manager.
  • Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Generate, prepare, analyze and present reports Research product tax rules and statutes to ensure compliance.
  • Apply and audit product tax profiles to ensure appropriate taxes are assessed and remitted Assist department managers.
  • Assist Retail Divisions through:
    • Coordination of schedules, reports and forms needed for accurate tax filing
    • Involvement in product tax audits and audit resolution
    • Review and verification of records to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, jurisdictional statutes, Company policies and best practices
  • Audit of accounting controls and procedures

Qualifications you'll bring as a Product Tax Supervisor:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)
  • Three or more years of accounting experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Superior accuracy and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize, forecast and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of product taxation concepts (collection, tracking, remittance, reporting, etc.)
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
