THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports both accounting and purchasing functions that keep the hospital's financial activities accurate and timely. The role includes work with invoices, purchasing cards, reports, inventory, and financial systems. As a Fiscal Technician, you will perform the following duties:

  • Financial Processing: Complete tasks such as verifying invoices, preparing checks, depositing revenue, and posting updates in SAP
  • Purchasing Support: Assist with purchasing card activities, reconcile statements, review documentation, and help resolve vendor concerns
  • Inventory Tracking: Maintain logs, databases, and records for inventory, fixed assets, and storeroom items, including periodic physical counts
  • Record Maintenance: Organize, file, and audit financial documents, contract information, and reconciliations for accuracy and proper documentation
  • Staff Assistance: Guide employees in entering travel vouchers, answer questions about payment status, and support training related to financial systems
  • Report Preparation: Compile financial and management reports and monitor account balances, open orders, and contract information

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
  • One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an Associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
