DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role supports maintenance operations by assisting trades staff with repairs, upkeep, and daily shop duties. As a Tradesman Helper, you will perform the following duties:
- Equipment Assistance: Help skilled trades staff with repairs and preventative maintenance on tools and construction equipment
- Minor Repairs: Perform basic tasks such as replacing parts, recording time and materials, and reporting equipment issues
- Parts Procurement: Pick up needed equipment parts and verify that all items are accurate and complete
- Work Area Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following proper safety procedures and using protective gear
- Physical Tasks: Assist with outdoor and physical duties that may require heavy exertion during repair or maintenance activities
- Knowledge Development: Participate in training and knowledge sharing to strengthen skills and support long term maintenance needs
- Safety Awareness: Assess surroundings, follow training and safety requirements, and report hazards or incidents to protect yourself, coworkers, and the public

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).
