DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides administrative and clerical support for the Safe Drinking Water Program and is the lead worker for the Waterways and Wetlands Program within the southwest region. The work you will do helps guarantee that program operations are accurate, efficient, and well coordinated. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:
- Lead Clerical Support: Guide clerical permitting tasks, assign work, and assist staff with specialized DEP systems
- Permit Review Work: Conduct administrative checks for water related permits and prepare required letters and records
- Data System Updates: Enter information into systems and resolve data issues when needed
- Public Notices: Prepare and submit permit announcements, hearing notices, and related items for publication and tracking
- Customer Assistance: Respond to questions from engineers, applicants, and the public about processes and required materials
- Office Coordination: Handle correspondence, maintain files, schedule meetings, and manage incoming and outgoing mail

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
