Job Title: Radiation Safety Support Coordinator
Location: Cary, NC
Employment Type: Contract (Temp to Hire)
Industry: manufacturing industry
Compensation: $35.95/hr.
Schedule: 40 hours/week (1 st shift)
8 AM - 5 PM
About the Opportunity:
  • Provides support for multiple radiation safety compliance programs including radiation dosimetry, radiation safety training, FDA 2579 submissions, Texas Equipment Performance Evaluations, X-Ray Demonstration Registrations, Radioactive Material Licensing and Service X-Ray Registrations.
  • Direct support of FDA 2579 Submissions: performs technical review of all FDA Form 2579 for accuracy and completeness. Specific job functions:
  • Compares information on forms against system information in P40
  • Makes corrections to forms as needed
  • Tracks missing or deficient forms
  • Submits forms to FDA, State Agencies and customers
  • Files completed forms
  • Communicates missing or deficient forms to field
  • Review FDA 2579 mailbox
  • Maintains associated databases
  • Tracks, files and submits payments to state agencies for licenses and other bills
  • Checks / P-Cards
  • Filing paperwork associated with Service X-Ray Registrations and Radioactive Material Licenses
  • Enrolling and maintaining personnel for Radiation Safety-related training.
  • Supports the Radiation Dosimetry Program, reviews dosimetry requests in the Radiation Safety Mailbox and provides radiation dosimetry as needed.
  • Reviews Radiation Safety Officer's mailbox for dosimetry requests
  • Communicate prior dose requests to the hiring manager
  • Files do requests
  • Issues and ships dosimeters
  • Supports quarterly ring dosimeter shipments
  • Maintains associated databases

What You'll Do:
  • Reviews the Radiation Safety Officer's mailbox for dosimetry requests
  • Communicate prior dose requests to the hiring manager
  • Supports X-Ray Demonstrations: reviews X-Ray Demonstration requests and submits to state agencies as required. Specific job functions:
  • Reviews X-Ray Demonstrations mailbox for X-Ray Demonstration event requests
  • Uploads event requests into the Demonstration database
  • Performs technical review of event requests against specific state regulations
  • Submits event requests as required to state agencies
  • Update the submitter that the event is approved
  • Reviews work performed from various service reports to see if an EPE
  • Review the Texas EPE mailbox for required communications
  • Review service reports for events where EPEs
  • Enter EPE requirements into SAP and the Texas EPE database
  • Contact the customer within the prescribed timeline to either schedule EPE or ensure EPE was performed by the customer
  • Contact contracted physics groups
  • File Texas EPE documentation
  • Update databases
  • Supports other administrative functions
  • Creating training documentation
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in administrative support, compliance coordination, or regulatory operations
  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
  • 1+ year of experience working with databases, document tracking, or reporting systems
What Sets You Apart:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of client SAP systems
  • Familiar with Power Platform
  • Background in Radiation Protection.
