POSITION SUMMARY : Under the general supervision of the Histology Laboratory Manager, the LST is responsible for providing quality customer oriented laboratory services including specimen procurement, specimen processing and related specialized procedures, case assembly, slide distribution, change H&E setup, file slides and service to effectively communicate information to users of the Laboratory Services in order to ensure the department is able to operate efficiently and to successfully fulfill its mission. LSTs also provide training and guidance to less experienced laboratory support technicians. Position: Laboratory Aide Support (Tech) Department: Pathology Lab Schedule: Full Time ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES: Transport specimens between grossing, processing, embedding, and staining areas Assist with loading/unloading tissue processors (as permitted by policy) Organize and store paraffin blocks and glass slides Retrieve archived slides/blocks for pathologists or send-outs Package specimens, slides, and blocks for referral testing Assist with specimen tracking and chain-of-custody documentation Verify patient identifiers and specimen labeling for accuracy and compliance Prepare cassettes, labels, and paperwork for histology processing JOB REQUIRMENTS EDUCATION:

Compensation Range: $18.27- $25.72This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications.
