Position Location:

This position will be located at the Princeton, NJ US Headquarters site. Our Sandoz flexible hybrid working approach allows US office-based employees to work up to 50% of their monthly workday remotely. This role will not have the ability to be located remotely. Preference will be given to local candidates not requiring relocation.

As Associate Director, External Supply Procurement you will:

  • Identify, manage, and deliver targeted savings and PPV opportunities across a broad portfolio of third-party products using a variety of sourcing and negotiation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial supplier relationships with a designated subset of the external supply base across the Americas region.
  • Lead negotiations for supply, manufacturing, and service agreements with CMOs and other direct materials suppliers, ensuring the best possible pricing and business terms for Sandoz while maintaining the highest ethical and compliance standards.
  • Maintain a robust Product Lifecycle Management process for the portfolio; identify, scope, initiate, and manage savings and efficiency projects in collaboration with functional business stakeholders (e.g. SRMs, MS&T, Distribution, Quality, Product Development) to consistently reduce product costs and related third-party spend.
  • Work closely with Tech Ops and Commercial Finance teams to set portfolio TPCs, value pipelines, and targets; track, manage, and report performance against these targets to department and STO leadership.
  • Lead and/or serve on cross-functional project teams designed to deliver specific business objectives for Sandoz, e.g. cash flow management, margin enhancement, top-line growth, packaging optimization.
  • Support formal governance and review processes within the Sandoz Technical Operations (STO) organization, in areas such as due diligence, deal review, product launch, supply assurance, internal audits, etc.
  • Collaborate with and manage Sandoz stakeholders across the commercial and STO organizations; drive internal consensus on priorities, expectations, and actions.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Annual savings / OpInc vs. targets
  • Future years' savings / efficiency pipeline value
  • Cash flow improvement (WAPT, credits, rebates, etc.)
  • Contract compliance
  • On-time completion of supported BD&L deals / product launches

What you'll bring to the role:

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience (Required):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 10 years of sourcing, procurement, and/or supplier management experience, including experience in the pharmaceutical / life sciences or related industries
  • Proven experience in negotiating and executing business-critical, high-value contracts under time pressure
  • Proven experience in managing and implementing cross-functional cost reduction / value creation projects with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Comprehensive understanding of product lifecycle management, including product costing and related financial analysis (e.g. forecasting and target setting)
  • Experience with end-to-end business case development for capital and operating projects in excess of $1 million
  • High degree of comfort with communicating and presenting to cross-functional stakeholders, including senior executives
  • Essential skills: Contract negotiations, product cost modeling, life cycle management, project management, executive communcations

Preferred Requirements:

  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus
  • Project management (PMP) or similar certification is a plus

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 20% domestic and/or international travel required (from 1-5-day duration)

he pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $116,100 - $215,700 USD/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/26 through 12/31/26, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

On September 30, 2021, Sandoz entered into a 5-year Corporate Integrity Agreement. Certain positions will have responsibilities to support the execution and adherence to CIA obligations, CIA-related deliverables, and any relevant audit, monitoring or Independent Review Organization (IRO) remediation.
