Division Information

Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in McKinney, TX. Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of PACCAR medium and heavy-duty truck parts sold under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. For more than forty years, Dynacraft has provided the company's truck manufacturing divisions and PACCAR Parts service parts division with high quality components, subassemblies and specialized services. Dynacraft's manufacturing facilities are located in Louisville, KY, and McKinney, TX.

Job Summary

The Plant Safety Supervisor is responsiblefor implementingand managing safety programs at the Dynacraft Louisville plant to include development and execution of safetystrategies.The ideal candidate is proactive, has experience in a manufacturing environment, and effectively collaborates with all stakeholders to develop and promote a culture of safety. This position is based in Louisville, Kentucky and reports to the Division Safety Manager. This position has direct reports; (1) Safety Specialist and (2) Occupational Health Nurses.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage a comprehensive safety program including prevention, inspection, investigation, and recording of incidents. Detect hazardous conditions, track and measure results and recommend, as well as implement appropriate actions.
  • Provide leadership, training, and analysis to managers, and employees in the identification of potential hazards and accident prevention.
  • Oversee the location's worker's compensation program, including investigations, reporting, and collection of information for claims management.
  • Develop and implement preventive or corrective measures relating to processes, machinery layout, plant ergonomics, and/or personal protective equipment.
  • Participate in Risk Assessments and long-term safety projects, in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and other stakeholders.
  • Proactively streamline safety processes and automate as appropriate.
  • Oversee the administration of the employee safety committee, ensuring effectiveness.
  • Administer, create, and facilitate safety training.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate the plant's emergency programs, ensuring proper training and certification.
  • Maintain knowledge of, and ensure compliance with, applicable federal, state, and locallaws. Coordinate with OSHA inspectors, fire department inspections, and PACCAR insurance carriers.
  • Coordinate with vendors providing safety-related services.
  • Assist in basic first aid treatment and other duties as needed.
  • Benchmark safety programs with other PACCAR locations as well as suppliers and PACCAR peer companies.
  • Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of closely related industrial safety and health experience
  • Demonstrative multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, or related field required.
  • Master's Degree in applicable field preferred.
  • Professional certification in safety, industrial hygiene or hazardous materials preferred.
