Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Anesthesiology within the New Jersey Medical School ( NJMS).

The Administrative Assistant performs a wide variety of administrative and support services within the Department of Anesthesiology/Pain Management. Assist in the planning and support of program activities and coordination of office operations.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Responsible for providing administrative services for the department.
  • Provides clerical support to the office of the Chair on a day-to-day basis including file maintenance, calendar maintenance, copying and phone coverage when necessary.
  • Orders supplies and equipment.
  • Receives and appropriately handles incoming correspondence, makes appointment, schedules meetings and responds to Inquiries.
  • Develops and implements controls for work assignments under the direction of the Director.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree plus two (2) years of administrative/ secretarial experience.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
