Job Description

A remote mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer job in West Palm Beach, FL is currently available at Belcan. This is a direct, full-time position with benefits. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field, preferably Mechanical, and between 5 and 9 years of mechanical design experience.

Job Duties:
Designers will support the design, development, and production of internal gas turbine components, including compressors, cases, combustion hardware, turbine hardware, and other propulsion components/assemblies used in jet and/or rocket engines. Leveraging NX and Teamcenter, designers will take full ownership of hardware definition from concept through release, delivering 3D models and drawings that support further analysis, manufacturing, assembly, and hardware testing. Responsibilities include addressing complex thermal, structural, and component packaging challenges to enable the design of producible and requirement meeting hardware. Additional responsibilities include driving process and productivity improvements for both new and existing hardware. Designers will collaborate closely with propulsion, systems, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure configuration control, technical acceptance, schedule alignment, and consistent quality.

Required:
oBachelor of Science degree in an engineering field from an accredited institution.
o5+ years of experience designing gas turbine componentry.
oExperience designing turbomachinery hardware and gas turbine componentry for flight and ground test purposes.
oCandidate must have Siemens NX CAD modeling and drafting experience.
oCandidate must have excellent mechanical aptitude skills.
oCandidate must be able to excel in a fast moving manufacturing and assembly environment.
oCandidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
o Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a U.S. citizen.

Preferred:
oProficient in using stackup analysis to determine component tolerances and also verify assembly fitment.
oExperience designing additively manufactured components.
oExperience designing tooling and support equipment.
oKnowledge of large mechanical systems, assembly and disassembly processes, manufacturing, and instrumentation.
oExperience reviewing engineering prints.
oExperience creating and/or reviewing Ansys structural analysis packages.
oFamiliarity with the operation of gas turbines and/or other propulsion system types.

Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $95,000 to $115,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
