DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will support the daily cleanliness and upkeep of Department of Transportation facilities in Montgomery County to ensure safe and orderly work areas. You will cover a wide range of tasks that help maintain a functional and welcoming environment. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Floor Care: Clean floors through sweeping, mopping, waxing, scrubbing, buffing, and polishing
- Restroom Cleaning: Sanitize restrooms and restock essential supplies
- Trash Removal: Empty waste containers and place materials into dumpsters or recycling units
- Surface Cleaning: Dust, wash, and polish fixtures, furniture, windows, vents, and similar surfaces
- Equipment Handling: Use custodial tools, chemicals, and modern cleaning equipment safely
- Snow Removal: Clear walkways and building perimeter by shoveling and using snow removal equipment

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).
