THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services is seeking a Licensed Psychologist who will play an important role in supporting patient recovery within a compassionate hospital setting. You will work with a skilled team that relies on your expertise to guide treatment and promote healing. Your role helps ensure that each patient receives thoughtful and personalized care. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role focuses on delivering psychological services and supporting treatment teams within an inpatient psychiatric hospital. You provide assessments, therapy, and clinical guidance while helping ensure that treatment plans are carried out effectively. As a Licensed Psychologist, you will perform the following duties:

  • Patient Evaluation: Assess psychological strengths and needs through interviews, observations, and record reviews
  • Test Administration: Select and interpret psychological tests to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Treatment Planning: Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop and monitor individualized treatment plans
  • Therapeutic Services: Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to support emotional and behavioral progress
  • Clinical Documentation: Prepare assessments, treatment notes, and required reports in the electronic health record
  • Team Participation: Take part in meetings, consultations, and training sessions to support coordinated patient care

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Travel as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

  • You must must possess a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
