Inova Physician Services - Cardiology - Fairfax East is looking for a dedicated Cardiovascular Sonographer Supervisor to join the team. This role will be Full-Time Day shift. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Cardiovascular Sonographer Supervisor Job Responsibilities:

  • Explains procedures to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation. Assists the physician in performing a variety of examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile technique, as evidenced by Radiologist's satisfaction.
  • Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services and meetings, as evidenced by attendance records. Attends 50 percent or more of QA conferences.
  • Demonstrates an ability to assist with various projects and departmental operations that may include ICAEL accreditation, echo research projects and cardiac fellowship with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness, as evidenced by successful outcomes. Assists departmental leadership with hiring process, departmental education and the training of new staff. Ensures adequate staffing plans on a 24 hour basis and ensures equitable staffing requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certification - Basic Life Support Upon start; American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registered with Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certification; or Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered with Certification for Vascular.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer Certification for Echo, or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography with Registered Vascular Technologist or Cardiovascular Credentialing International with the Registered Vascular Specialist
  • Licensure - None required
  • Experience - Seven years or more of experience in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of cardiac or vascular sonography.
  • Education - Other Sonography Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical, setting., sonography or five years of specialized training in a hospital/healthcare
