Cardiovascular Sonographer Supervisor Job Responsibilities:
- Explains procedures to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation. Assists the physician in performing a variety of examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile technique, as evidenced by Radiologist's satisfaction.
- Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services and meetings, as evidenced by attendance records. Attends 50 percent or more of QA conferences.
- Demonstrates an ability to assist with various projects and departmental operations that may include ICAEL accreditation, echo research projects and cardiac fellowship with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness, as evidenced by successful outcomes. Assists departmental leadership with hiring process, departmental education and the training of new staff. Ensures adequate staffing plans on a 24 hour basis and ensures equitable staffing requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certification - Basic Life Support Upon start; American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registered with Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certification; or Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered with Certification for Vascular.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer Certification for Echo, or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography with Registered Vascular Technologist or Cardiovascular Credentialing International with the Registered Vascular Specialist
- Licensure - None required
- Experience - Seven years or more of experience in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of cardiac or vascular sonography.
- Education - Other Sonography Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical, setting., sonography or five years of specialized training in a hospital/healthcare
