You will also test and evaluate new product prototypes, and design and build automated development test fixtures to facilitate product evaluations. You will blend mechanical assembly skills with electronic system knowledge to support advanced testing, prototyping, and maintenance in specialized technical environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and direct the 5S + Safety program, including periodic audits and corrective actions.
  • Plan and conduct the calibration program for all lab instruments, keeping all instruments current, and coordinating calibration timing with active development work to minimize disruptions.
  • Conduct verification and validation tests with design engineers on prototypes and pre-production samples, including functional tests, stress tests, and accelerated life tests.
  • Write reports to document tests performed, including charts, graphs and schematics to illustrate the product's operating characteristics and deviations from design specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations; ensure the maintenance of department housekeeping standards.
  • Provide other required support to the new product development engineering team.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity and quality, while reducing costs.
  • Maintain technical competency and remain current in technology and changes in industry.

  • Fabrication & Assembly: Build and assemble electronic hardware from schematics and mounting mechanical components
  • Mechanical Assembly: Mount devices, install equipment into racks, and perform electrical testing after assembly.
  • Parts Management: Order, store, and manage inventory for technical builds, ensuring documentation and availability of required components.
  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain electro-mechanical lab equipment, including test fixtures, automated test systems, and measurement tools.
  • Testing & Characterization: Perform bench-top and automated tests, PLC logic based
  • Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair electromechanical systems, replace defective components, and calibrate instruments.
