General Purpose: Support and/or plan modes of transportation for export orders working with manufacturing plants and third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses to ensure timely movement of product. Provide daily proactive communication of carrier schedule changes and/or cost impacts with recommendations for resolution. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Discern optimal carrier selection based on customer requirements, cost, and transit
- Ensure all ocean and drayage carrier rates are contracted with carriers prior to bookings
- Schedule bookings with ocean/drayage providers that meet customer requested delivery dates and transit times while minimizing transportation costs
- Document ocean booking details in appropriate system for internal visibility while also maintaining a comprehensive tracker of all active shipments
- Oversee appointment schedules between drayage providers, plants, and 3PL to ensure timely pick-ups
- Enter ocean freight accruals in appropriate system and audit invoices for accurate transportation billing and payment
- Confirm ocean export shipments sail (complete) from US ports
- Work closely with export specialists to mitigate any ocean carrier documentation delays (delays that would create a bottleneck for the on-time and successful completion of the complete customer export documentation)
- Assist with managing ocean carrier contracts to ensure balance and minimum quality commitment fulfillment
- Participate in monthly drayage carrier business updates
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and best practices to present at carrier business reviews
- Support spot-quote requests from stakeholders (as new sales opportunities arise)
- Maintain the centralized rate matrix for spot quote lanes
- Assist in developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and instruction manuals to further develop the export processes related to international logistics
- Analyze international small package shipment for cost-savings opportunities while educating small package users on cost/service best practices via an annual training initiative
- Provide timely communication of industry information to stakeholders
- Provide monthly KPI carrier performance reporting and ad hoc reports to business units as requested
- Assist with billing discrepancies and claims
- Maintain program system administration duties including but not limited to loading rates, correcting system errors, loading carrier related master data, etc.

Minimum Requirements: Education and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
- 2 to 5 years of transportation, distribution, logistics management, or related experience, preferably including experience in ocean export logistics
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
- Knowledge of supply chain analytics, warehouse operations, and industry standards
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Able to multi-task and problem solve
- Able to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Able to effectively analyze and interpret data
- Able to handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalism
- Able to work collaboratively with others
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
