Summary: Under direct supervision of the City Administrator the Director of Parks and Recreation will provide vision direction and is directly responsible for planning, development, execution, and evaluation of all programs, activities, events, and facilities for people of all ages.

- Works under direct supervision of the City Administrator
- Exercises duties of the Director of Parks and Recreation
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates, supervises, and develops the total operation of the Parks Department in order to provide high quality recreational programs and park areas.
- Recommends hiring, trains, and supervises concession, referees, and park employees in their assigned job responsibilities, including proper food handling.
- Plans recreational programs, researches community interest, develops recreational programs and schedules programs; monitors programs to ensure safe and effective programs.
- Supervises all personnel and evaluates work performance of personnel; resolves conflicts and grievances.
- Oversees cash management and reviews concession sales data to ensure revenue goals are met.
- Conducts maintenance of the park grounds and facilities with cooperation as approved by the City Administrator from the Public Works department.
- Maintains Social and Electronic media (Facebook page and City Website).
- Make continual review of sources of grants and special programs to assist the City.

Skills:
- Valid Missouri driver’s license and good driving record
- Skill in handling public contact in a pleasant and professional manner
- Skill in successful supervision of subordinates
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with elected officials, appointed officials, other staff and members of the public.
