Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Analyze user and system requirements to inform software design, performance expectations, and technical feasibility
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications, including enhancing existing systems with new features and capabilities
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure system reliability and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., systems and hardware engineers) to align software solutions with broader system architecture and constraints
- Develop and optimize data queries and database interactions, ranging from simple retrievals to complex data processing logic
- Contribute to system integration efforts across new or existing environments, ensuring compatibility and stability
- Apply algorithmic thinking to meet functional and performance requirements, including implementing efficient and scalable solutions
- Support testing efforts by developing and executing test procedures for software components
Documentation & Process
- Create, review, and maintain clear technical documentation for software and system components
- Recommend and implement improvements to development processes, documentation standards, and team workflows
- Perform quality control activities to ensure adherence to coding standards and system requirements
Team Contribution & Leadership Growth
- Contribute effectively within a development team, with the ability to lead small efforts or tasks as needed
- Assist in coordinating development activities to ensure timely and compliant delivery of software solutions
- Support continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and proposing practical enhancements
Qualifications
- A TS/SCI with a current poly is required.
- 14 years in programs and contracts of comparable scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering. Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Four years of additional software engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
- JIRA & GitLab: Experienced in managing development workflows, issue tracking, and version control. Proficient in coordinating Agile/Scrum teams to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Agile / Scrum Methodologies: Applied iterative development and sprint planning to improve collaboration, transparency, and velocity in software delivery.
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform): Skilled in defining, provisioning, and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform, enabling automated, repeatable deployments.
- AWS Cloud Security: Implemented security best practices for cloud environments, including IAM policies, network segmentation, encryption, and auditing to protect resources and data.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Designed and maintained Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines to automate testing, building, and deployment, improving efficiency and reducing errors.

Target Salary Range
$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
