WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

FULL SUMMARY

The Recruiter is responsible for executing Western States' recruitment strategy by sourcing new talent. This position requires experience in high volume recruiting with an emphasis in sourcing, screening, and targeted advertising in order to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. As a member of the HR team, collaboration, teamwork, and relationship building will be critical to the success of the Recruiting Specialist as they partner with hiring managers to ensure compliance through established processes while promoting company culture and core values to attract top talent and creating candidate engagement. Previous experience utilizing traditional recruiting tools is required (Social Media, internet databases, job boards, and internal ATS) with the ability to think outside of the box in executing recruiting initiatives.

Recruiting



  • Works with Talent Acquisition Manager and hiring managers across the territory to understand work force needs and initiatives while ensuring all applicable laws are met.
  • Executes WSE's recruitment strategy and process through requisition posting, advertising, candidate screening, and coordinating interviews.
  • Stays active with current job boards, websites, social networks and platforms by researching and building relationships with potential vendors and specialized advertising resources.
  • Pre-screening candidates with detailed phone screens, which would include evaluating their capability to the job requirements and ensuring the right fit for the position.
  • Negotiates wage rates and other terms and conditions of employment with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Conducts sourcing of passive candidates through research, relationship building, complex internet and job board and talent pool database searching with limited to no supervision.
  • Serves as backup support to HR Coordinator in generating offer letters, scheduling pre-employment drug screening and background checks to ensure applicant clears all requirements.


  • Assists in the creation of new or revised job descriptions to ensure that they accurately reflect the duties being performed as positions evolve over time.
  • Coordinates and conducts community awareness activities to enhance our brand, identity and staffing needs which include career fairs, open houses, community events, and industry related conferences.
  • Builds recruitment advertising campaign materials with Talent Acquisition Manager and marketing department.
  • Works closely with the Technician Programs Manager in fulfilling specific program needs, including prospective student sourcing, post program placement and integration into the full time or part time workforce.


Administration



  • Administers established temporary staffing vendor contracts to include but is not limited to: ensuring compliance to negotiated rates and contract conditions, facilitation of placement of temp employees at all stores, and weekly timecard and invoice approvals,


  • Compose weekly recruiting reports to include position openings, candidate activity, time to fill, offer status, and additional resources needed.


  • Develops and executes specific Talent Acquisition projects on an as needed basis.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:



  • Strong computer skills and technology skills required. Must be able to utilize Microsoft office programs.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communicator with ability to communicate via email and phone.
  • Ability to exhibit positive, professional attitude and perform tasks efficiently and with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to travel overnight for recruitment meetings, college visits, and career fairs
  • Consistent attendance and timeliness.


  • Ability to handle sensitive information with respect to individual and corporate confidentiality.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Minimum of four years' experience in a recruitment function preferred. Preference given for prior heavy equipment or light industrial recruiting.


  • Successful track record of recruiting passive candidates utilizing a variety of sourcing techniques is preferred.


  • Minimum of four years' experience in utilizing Applicant Tracking System (ATS) preferred.


  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).


PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:



  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time along with walking, standing, climbing stairs, reaching pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs in accordance with Western States' Lifting Safe Work Practice to include amount and approach.
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies.
