FULL SUMMARY

The Regional Manager for the CAT Rental Store division of Western States Equipment oversees the assigned rental areas with responsibility for leading the branches to meet annual business objectives and dealer excellence goals through superior client service. This is a key leadership position within the rental business and is responsible for supporting and implementing leadership initiatives that support a culture of engagement.

Team Management and Training



  • Provides supervision to direct reports. Leads through ongoing coaching, mentoring, and developing strong skill sets.
  • Reviews performance and determines compensation increases.
  • Oversees the Tech Development plan and ensures employees are progressing through the program.
  • Establishes quality standards to deliver superior client service in branches.
  • Provides customer service leadership. Establishes customer service failure prevention and recovery strategies for branches.
  • Insures proper and consistent accounting in branches. Supports all company critical success factors and annual business plan.
  • Provides and maintains safe and friendly working conditions to ensure that employees follow proper policies and procedures.
  • Interviews, selects employees. Evaluates employee performance and resolves staff and work group conflicts as they arise.
  • Plans, schedules and conducts service staff meetings.
  • Adheres to all client care standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Strategic Planning



  • Meets or exceeds all Dealer Excellence goals and objectives for region.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper fleet levels that allow your region to achieve growth and return on asset goals
  • Responsible for presenting annual strategies for your responsible region and assisting the VP in Division planning and forecasting
  • Meets or exceeds annual budgeted revenue and profit objectives. Analyzes financial statements and initiates changes where problems are located.
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze needs of the operation and plan for future development and growth.
  • Plans, organizes, directs staff and monitors all aspects of the rental departments.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:



  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft computer products or other comparable systems required.
  • Proven skills in written and verbal communications, planning, organizing, leadership and interpersonal relationship building.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, occasional overnight required.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work without supervision.
  • Consistent attendance.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a rental equipment environment, performing related tasks required. Caterpillar experience preferred.
  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience required.
  • Minimum of one year managing a P&L/Budgeting experience preferred.


  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and ability to obtain DOT Medical card required.


PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:



  • Ability to stand for long periods of time along with walking, sitting, repetitive climbing stairs, reaching (including but not limited to above-shoulder reaching), repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures and environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. in accordance with Western States' Lifting Policy to include amount and approach.
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies.
