Description

Position Overview:



Work in all aspects of Facility Maintenance. $31.25






Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



* Engaging in the preventive maintenance of all machinery ie; fluid changes, filter changes, cleaning, trouble-shooting & preventative maintenance (PM) of machinery

* Identify & replace worn components before mechanical breakdown

* Maintain preventative maintenance readings on all equipment

* Assisting technicians or mechanics as needed.

* Perform Ball bar testing on any/all CNC equipment

* Maintain Tools, equipment and record keeping for performing PM's

Education and Experience:



* High School/GED, Degree requirements, prior experience in a manufacturing environment






Competencies and Skills:



* Duties require decision making in regard to trouble shooting (problem identification) and the proper selection of solutions to problems not normally encountered; employees must determine appropriate actions to be taken to achieve required results

* Experience with and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

* Must have mechanical ability and aptitude

* Must have prior maintenance experience working on large equipment either mechanically or electronically

* Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment

* Willing to work any shift and overtime as required

* Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work

* Must be highly safety conscious

* Position involves exposure to high voltage electricity

* Must possess valid DOT card and S&W fork truck license.

* Must be able to successfully demonstrate mechanical ability through a comprehensive interview process

* Must be able to read, write and interpret English language

* Basic computer skills preferred






Physical Demands:



* Continuous: standing, walking, lifting, bending, pushing/pulling, and reaching.

* Occasional: kneeling, sitting, squatting, overhead work, fine and gross upper body motor movement

* Maximum lift: to 50 pounds and assisted lifting

* Occasional lifting: 0 to 50 pounds

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:



* Work environment is similar to most manufacturing operations. Will be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with moving around machinery, work in confined quarters, exposed to vibrations and shop lighting.

* Mandatory wearing of certified safety glasses and hearing protection

* The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear

* All employees are required to apply ergonomic correctness to all job tasks

* May be required depending on position:

* Involvement in the hearing conservation program

* Wearing of safety certified shoes/boots

* Participation in the stretching program if applicable

* Within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting
