We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to join us at Day & Zimmermann at our Texarkana, TX facility. This pivotal role engages in engineering design and process optimization integral to the success of our manufacturing projects within the Munitions & Government sector. Under general supervision, the incumbent will develop detailed engineering deliverables and technical specifications aligned with contractual requirements, ensuring rigorous adherence to quality and safety standards.The role demands collaboration with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless project execution from design through to production. Key responsibilities include preparing equipment and material quotations, managing purchase orders, and conducting comprehensive field assignments and factory inspections to uphold compliance with established specifications.

Responsibilities
- Execute general engineering duties supporting manufacturing processes, including preparing detailed studies, drafting technical documents, and developing specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules to optimize production efficiency.
- Coordinate with Project Management, Proposal Writing, and Budgeting teams to communicate project needs and timelines effectively, ensuring alignment of resources and objectives.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive operator procedures for the shop floor, addressing real-time production challenges and facilitating smooth operational workflows.
- Drive projects from conceptual stages through production, ensuring adherence to schedule and budget constraints, while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Lead and participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and cost reductions using lean manufacturing principles.
- Conduct thorough inspections and field assessments to verify compliance with manufacturing and safety specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective measures promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all engineering activities, supporting audit readiness and process transparency.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

- In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing methods and techniques to optimize production flow and reduce waste.
- Proficiency in interpreting and applying technical drawings, safety regulations, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions to ensure compliance and operational safety.
- Strong skills in cost estimating and facilities planning to contribute effectively to budgeting and resource allocation processes.
- Advanced knowledge of essential software tools including Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, AutoCAD, 3-D Modeling software, Outlook, SAP, and other relevant applications, enabling efficient design, documentation, and communication.
- Exceptional technical writing abilities to produce clear, concise, and accurate procedures and engineering reports.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills tailored to a manufacturing engineering environment, capable of addressing complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Adaptability to evolving technologies and manufacturing methods, supporting continuous professional growth and process innovation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts or Sciences (BA/BS) in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in manufacturing engineering is preferred, demonstrating progressive responsibility and technical expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects within a manufacturing environment, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
- Proven track record in applying lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with shop floor operations and the development of operational procedures is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in team-oriented settings.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards applying to manufacturing processes.
Compensation and Benefits
Candidates may be required to satisfy additional job-related requirements, including those established and controlled by third parties, as part of the selection process.
In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $76,080 - $114,120. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
