Regeneron DNALC Summer High School Internship

The Regeneron DNA Learning Center (DNALC) in Sleepy Hollow, NY seeks high school interns for the school year. The Learning Center is in partnership with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc, in Sleepy Hollow, NY. DNALC Interns will join a team that is responsible for the preparation of materials for teacher workshops, student camps and school-year student field trips. This is a great opportunity to learn core lab skills, including but not limited to: preparation of media and solutions, pipetting, agarose gel electrophoresis, PCR, bacterial culture and sterile technique.

• Performing laboratory prep work for educational programs, including preparation of reagents for use in experiments, maintaining bacterial strains and preparation of culture media;
• Packing of materials and equipment for offsite instruction and student research programs;
• General classroom upkeep, equipment testing, and laboratory set-up.
• Assisting educational staff during summer camp instruction and supervising campers during lunch

HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION: Current high school student, at least 16 years old

EXPERIENCE: An interest in science

OTHER: Ability to work Monday-Friday (9:00 AM-4:30 PM) for 6-8 weeks during the summer. Must have reliable transportation to/from the Regeneron DNALC.

Compensation:
The hourly rate for this role is $17.00. The hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
