Position Summary: The Director of the Oncology Services in collaboration with the Executive Director, MCI is responsible for strategic planning, marketing, business development, implementation and evaluation of all Cancer related programs and accreditations, education and patient care programs, including operational and fiscal oversight of these programs. The Director is also responsible for the integration of the Adult Cancer Program with the strategic plan for the MCI, SBMC and MHS. The Director is the principal ambassador for cancer care at SBMC and articulates the MCI vision to professionals, local businesses and the community including health care providers, prospective patients, third party payors, business interests, government agencies, and public officials. In tandem with the VP of Strategy, the Director, of Oncology Services, collaborates on community outreach activities for the cancer program which include educational and fundraising events. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop and maintain linkages with physicians associated with the MCI (SBMC and MMF) Identify potential physician alignment opportunities Collaborate with physicians and other stakeholders to create/connect strategic vision for MCI Implement MCI strategic vision in collaboration with the SBMC strategic vision Work with MCI physicians to ensure that best practices are adopted to benefit patients Support implementation of new programs and services Ensure quality improvement projects meet stated objectives Responsible for annual operating and capital budgets of departments Ensure that departments meet budget targets Collaborate with other MCI Leaders and Executive Director, MCI to implement and maintain systems to fulfill accreditation requirements -ACOS, NAPBC, ACR, JCAHO Provide direct supervision to MCI managers and other MCI Staff Communicate effectively with physicians, staff and leadership *Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
