A Brief Overview

The Provider Enrollment Supervisor is an operational leader and subject matter expert in revenue cycle management and accounts receivable operations. This role plays a critical part in building a highperforming, engaged team while supporting the financial health of CHOPPA. The Supervisor is responsible for fostering a strong team culture through consistent engagement, mentoring, and professional development-particularly supporting the growth of future CHOP leaders.

Key responsibilities include identifying, implementing, and sustaining best practices across revenue cycle operations; monitoring and interpreting key performance indicators (KPIs); and taking timely, appropriate action to ensure optimal financial performance. The Provider Enrollment Supervisor collaborates with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, provides handson leadership, and ensures alignment with CHOPPA's broader financial and operational goals.

In this role, the Supervisor oversees a team of enrollment specialists responsible for enrolling and maintaining healthcare providers with payers and regulatory bodies. This includes ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant submission and followup of provider enrollment applications, roster updates, and demographic changes across both delegated and nondelegated payer agreements. The Supervisor provides daytoday operational leadership, resolves escalated issues, and ensures quality, accuracy, and productivity standards are consistently met.

The Provider Enrollment Supervisor also leads continuous process improvement efforts, including optimizing CredentialStream through workflow enhancements, alerts, and reporting improvements. Serving as a subject matter expert, the Supervisor stays current on regulatory changes and industry best practices and supports departmental planning and goal setting. This role works closely with the Enrollment Manager to align team priorities with organizational objectives and drive ongoing operational excellence.

Work Schedule
  • Hybrid role
    • Onsite 1 day per week (Monday)
    • 2 days onsite for first 90 days, then 1 day weekly
The Ideal Candidate Has
  • 1+ year of supervisory or lead experience
  • Experience managing larger teams
  • Enrollment experience; AR/denials experience preferred
  • Strong communication, coaching, and peopleleadership skills
  • Ability to manage change and competing priorities
  • Excel proficiency, including filtering and pivot tables
  • Experience reviewing data from reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)

What you will do

  • Team Leadership & Oversight
    * Lead and support a team of enrollment coordinators/specialists, including daily work assignments, workflow management, and issue resolution.
    * Monitor individual and team performance, providing coaching and support to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards are met.
    * The Enrollment Supervisor is the first line of contact for internal support for questions regarding processes, policies and software use.
    * Conduct regular team huddles, one-on-ones, and provide input on performance reviews to the enrollment manager.
    * Support departmental hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives.
    * Manage staff workload distribution
  • Operational Excellence
    * Oversee all aspects of enrollment processing from accuracy to timeliness and capacity including but not limited to:
    Initial and re-enrollment applications
    Revalidations
    CAQH attestations
    PECOS submissions
    Delegated roster submissions
    Demographic updates and maintenance
    * Ensure expert knowledge of payer enrollment requirements.
    * Ensure compliance with internal policies, payer requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., CMS, NCQA, URAC).
    * Support audit preparation and response (internal and external), including delegated audits.
    * Identify and implement workflow standardization and process optimization.
    * Develop and maintain SOPs for enrollment processes.
    * Serve as SME on best practices and regulatory changes.
    * Oversee all aspects of enrollment processing (applications, revalidations, CAQH, PECOS, roster submissions, demographic updates).
    * Ensure compliance with policies, payer requirements, and regulatory standards; support audits.
  • Issue Resolution & Escalation
    * Serve as the point of escalation for complex enrollment issues, payer rejections, or application delays.
    * Partner with managers, operational leaders from other departments such as Revenue Cycle, and payers to troubleshoot and resolve barriers.

  • Reporting & Metrics
    * Track and review key metrics, capacity and all turnaround times (TATs), and act appropriately on the data.
    * Establish, monitor, and report on KPIs (application submissions, turnaround times, denial rates, revenue impact).
    * Identify process bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement; collaborate with leadership to streamline workflows and enhance automation.
  • Collaboration
    * Work closely with credentialing, provider relations, contracting, and IT/technology teams to ensure provider onboarding and enrollment completeness.
    * Communicate with payers, practitioners, and other partners as needed.
    * Assist Manager in departmental planning and goal setting.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED - Required
  • Bachelor's Degree - Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least three (3) years Provider enrollment, credentialing, or related healthcare operations - Required
  • At least one (1) year supervisory or lead experience - Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of CMS, PECOS, CAQH, payer enrollment guidelines (Required proficiency)
  • Strong knowledge of delegated vs direct contract structures (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment (Required proficiency)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills (Required proficiency)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail (Required proficiency)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) (Required proficiency)
  • Enrollment management software (CredentialStream, Echo, Symplr, MD-Staff) (Preferred proficiency)
