Responsibilities

Please note this position is being offered for candidates that reside in the state of Texas only.

New opportunity based for a highly skilled Field Service Technical Specialist to perform installation, service, maintenance, and customer training for horizontal superconducting magnet systems, including Maxwell Magnet Technology systems, within pharmaceutical companies, universities, government research facilities, high-technology laboratories and industrial application opportunities throughout the Americas Region. This role will primarily focus on Orbem customer service and also support additional magnet system installations and service activities across the broader customer base.

    Serve as the primary Field Service Technical Specialist for installed magnet systems at Orbem and other customer sites.
  • Diagnose and correct magnet system malfunctions on-site or remotely to restore operational performance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance of magnet systems in accordance with defined service protocols and contractual compliance requirements.
  • Act as the main technical point of contact for customer, ensuring strong engagement and sustained commercial relationships.
  • Document all service activities in Salesforce to ensure traceability, cost allocation accuracy, and KPI compliance.
  • Manage open technical software and hardware interventions through resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal magnet experts and other Field Service staff to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Maintain ownership and accountability for assigned customer magnet system interventions.
  • Install and commission horizontal superconducting magnet systems and Maxwell Magnet Technology systems according to technical specifications.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to install, service, troubleshoot, and performance validation of superconducting magnet platforms.
  • Diagnose cryogenic, vacuum, and electromechanical issues related to horizontal and Maxwell magnet systems.
  • Perform magnet requalification and system performance verification where required.
  • Oversee rigging and safe transportation of magnet systems from Port of Entry to Customer laboratory.
  • Verify Customer site readiness, including infrastructure, environmental, and safety compliance requirements.
  • Conduct customer training on safe operation, routine maintenance, and best practices for magnet systems.
  • Inspect equipment for malfunction, failure, or damage and determine root cause through structured analysis.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, customer service, and sales teams to expedite technical resolution.
  • Provide technical assistance to support installations, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and emergency service calls across assigned territories.
  • Maintain high standard of safety, documentation accuracy, and professional customer communication.
  • Attend and actively participate in planned technical and training programs as assigned by manager.
  • This position requires extensive weekly and overnight travel to customer and training sites.
  • Assignments may involve multi-day installation projects, preventive maintenance visits, and emergency response service.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Associate Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on work experience diagnosing and repairing superconducting magnet systems and cryogenic systems.
  • Proven work experience with horizontal magnet platforms and Maxwell Magnet Technology systems preferred.
  • Professional work experience with Bruker magnetic resonance hardware and software instruments, particularly MRI desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic test equipment including digital voltmeters (DVMs), oscilloscopes, and frequency synthesizers.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and structured problem-solving skills.
  • English fluency with advanced proficiency in reading, writing, and oral communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise systems such as SAP and Salesforce.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical support environments preferred.
  • Strong project management, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to apply mathematical and technical concepts to practical field situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete position training and compliance requirements,
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., transport equipment and tools in excess of 200 lbs.
  • This position requires lifting heavy objects and maneuvering large bulky items (examples: tools, mechanical pumps, rigging equipment, power supplies, field mapper).
  • This position requires reasonable dexterity to perform manual functions in confined spaces.
  • Proven ability to follow safety standards, practices, and codes.
  • Ability to provide quick response times and travel on short notice to fulfill contractual KPI requirements
  • Ability to work with third party vendors and customer to resolve overall systems issues
  • Ability to maintain current knowledge of company tools, products, and applications.
  • Reliable transportation and valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
  • Maintain a valid passport with flexibility for domestic and international travel.
  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $60,750 and $108,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a number of job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
