As a critical strategic partner to Goldman Sachs financial advisors and ultra-high-net-worth clients, you will transform complex legislative developments into actionable, multi-generational wealth optimization and protection strategies.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL



  • Strategic Legislative Analysis: Proactively monitor, deconstruct, and interpret the latest legislative, judicial, and regulatory technical tax developments, identifying critical risks and strategic opportunities for both business entities and ultra-high-net-worth individual taxpayers.
  • Authoritative Tax Advisory: Serve as the definitive expert in resolving complex income tax and estate planning inquiries pertaining to business entity taxation, delivering clear, precise, and authoritative guidance to internal teams and discerning clients.
  • Meticulous Document Review & Refinement: Conduct rigorous audits and strategic refinements of legal and financial documents for intricate entity transactions and sophisticated estate planning structures, collaborating closely with specialized wealth transfer teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • High-Stakes Client Engagement: Lead and participate in critical teleconferences with clients, their advisors, and external legal counsel, articulating nuanced tax concepts with clarity and proposing innovative, bespoke planning solutions that address complex financial scenarios.
  • Develop Thought Leadership: Create and continuously update premier intellectual capital, including impactful client-facing "Insight" memos and comprehensive internal technical advisories, establishing and communicating the firm's authoritative stance on evolving tax issues.
  • Elevate Firm-Wide Expertise: Design and deliver master-class-level training seminars and teleconferences for financial advisors and tax compliance groups, significantly elevating the firm's collective technical proficiency and strategic understanding of business entity taxation.
  • Influence Tax Policy & Strategy: Play a key role in shaping the firm's formal policy determinations regarding uncertain tax positions, with a particular focus on pass-through entities and other complex business structures, safeguarding the firm and its clients.



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERTISE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking an exceptionally accomplished and strategically minded tax professional to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of business entity taxation, coupled with an unparalleled ability to translate complex legal frameworks into actionable strategies for ultra-high-net-worth clients. This role demands a blend of rigorous analytical capability, superior communication, and a relentless commitment to staying at the forefront of tax policy.



  • Academic & Professional Foundation: A Juris Doctor (JD) degree is required. An LL.M. in Taxation is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of tax experience
  • Deep Technical Expertise: Possess significant and demonstrated professional experience in federal and state business entity taxation, with a proven track record of applying intricate tax law within sophisticated estate planning contexts. This includes authoritative knowledge of Partnerships, S-Corporations, and LLC tax frameworks.
  • Analytical Acumen & Strategic Judgment: Exhibit an exceptional ability to deconstruct complex legal statutes and regulatory developments, identifying their profound implications for diverse business structures. Demonstrate strategic judgment in balancing technical tax requirements with the commercial and personal objectives of ultra-high-net-worth clients.
  • Communication & Executive Presence: Command superior writing skills for authoring authoritative technical memos and intellectual capital. Possess the executive presence and persuasive oral advisory skills necessary to confidently articulate complex tax concepts to sophisticated audiences, including clients, advisors, and external counsel.
  • Continuous Learning & Thought Leadership: Display a relentless drive for independent learning, ensuring you remain at the absolute forefront of the evolving tax landscape and emerging policy.
  • Collaborative Influence & Detail Orientation: Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other specialists, building consensus on complex policy and planning matters. Maintain a meticulous approach to reviewing legal documents and authoring technical memos, ensuring precision and accuracy.
  • Industry Experience (Preferred): Experience gained within a top-tier law firm, a "Big 4" national office, or a sophisticated family office environment is highly valued. Specific experience handling investor issues involving private equity and hedge funds is a distinct advantage.
