Job Title: Financial Analyst/ Fiscal Specialist (Hybrid Role)

Location: Cranston RI, 02908

Duration: 6+ months (with possible extension)

Pay rate: $30.00 /hr. on w2 without benefits

Job Description:

  • Position provides technical fiscal support to address increased workload associated with Workday reconciliation, fiscal close activities, and compliance requirements. The contractor will support critical financial operations including account reconciliation, indirect cost rate implementation, and cost allocation review.
  • Responsibilities include performing detailed Workday financial reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness for fiscal close, calculating and processing adjustments related to the anticipated approval of multiple years of Indirect Cost Rates, and completing cost allocation reconciliation.
  • The contractor will ensure compliance with federal and state financial requirements, support accurate financial reporting, and assist in strengthening internal controls. This work is time-sensitive and essential to maintaining compliance and meeting fiscal close deadlines.


Roles And Responsibilities:

  • Perform Workday financial reconciliations to support fiscal close.
  • Analyze and resolve discrepancies across accounts and funding sources.
  • Calculate and process adjustments related to approved Indirect Cost Rates.
  • Support implementation of multi-year indirect cost rate changes.
  • Complete cost allocation reconciliation.
  • Assist with documentation and support for Auditor General and federal compliance requirements.
  • Prepare reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for financial review.


Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of governmental accounting and financial reporting
  • Experience with cost allocation methodologies and federal claiming processes
  • Familiarity with Medicaid Administrative claiming and Cost Allocation Plans
  • Experience performing financial reconciliations and fiscal close activities
  • Knowledge of Indirect Cost Rate development and application
  • Experience with enterprise financial systems (Workday preferred)
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and resolve discrepancies
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent documentation and audit support skills


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience in state government or public sector finance
  • Advanced Excel skills (reconciliations, data analysis, reporting)
