Title: Electrical Design Test Engineer
Location: Berkeley, MO 63134
Duration: 12 months contract with possible extension
Shift Schedule: 1st shift (9:30 am to 5:30 pm)
Pay rate: of $73/hr. on w2 without benefits. Job Description:
- Assists with the development and documentation of electronic and electrical system requirements.
- Develops or modifies basic hardware and software designs based on defined requirements.
- Performs system tests to verify operational and functional requirements.
- Supports fabrication technicians and suppliers' questions during build and fabrication process
- Supports resolution of product integration issues and production anomalies.
- Supports hands-on troubleshooting of test racks
- Perform acceptance test procedures to demonstrate conformance to design and document results
- Develop and maintain scripts used to run test functions using C and C++
- Researches basic technologies for potential application to company business needs
Role & Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, tests, and maintains embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards.
- Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products.
- Develops, maintains, enhances and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations.
- Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products.
- Debugs and resolves issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products.
- Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysis.
- Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development
- Develops, establishes, monitors and improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks.
- Executes and documents software research and development projects.
- Advises on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.
- Performs software project management activities and software supplier management functions.
- Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors OR 3 yrs work-related experience with a Masters
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Experience with laboratory test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong foundation in C, C++, and python
- Siemens Capital experience
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
