CW is seeking a dedicated Site Safety Officer to support our commercial landscaping operations and help maintain the highest standards of safety and performance across our worksites. If you take pride in protecting people, improving processes, and creating safe, efficient outdoor environments, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.



  • Monitors the worksite each day to identify safety hazards and unsafe conditions.

  • Makes sure all workers follow company safety rules, PPE requirements, and site procedures.

  • Helps crews understand safe ways to use tools, equipment, and vehicles.

  • Reports unsafe conditions, nearmisses, and incidents to supervisors right away.

  • Works with the site manager to correct hazards and improve safety practices.

  • Checks that equipment, tools, and vehicles are in safe working condition.

  • Helps with safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.

  • Keeps clear and accurate safety records, logs, and inspection forms.

  • Supports emergency procedures and helps guide workers during drills or real events.

  • Communicates safety expectations in a calm, respectful, and helpful manner.

  • Ensures walkways, work zones, and storage areas stay clean and free of hazards.

  • Works closely with landscaping crews to maintain a safe and productive job site.


What You'll Need to Be Successful:



  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in landscaping, ground maintenance, or another outdoor labor environment.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience completing quality checks to ensure work meets company standards.

  • Experience enforcing safety rules and ensuring crews follow required procedures.

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office software (Teams, Outlook, Excel).

  • Valid Real ID.

  • Valid Driver License.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.


Bonus If You Have These Skills:



  • OSHA 10/30-hour certification in Construction or General Industry Safety.

  • Strong proficiency in OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and landscapingspecific safety rules.

  • Ability to identify hazards such as uneven ground, moving equipment, sharp tools, or unsafe work practices.

  • Knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices, including water conservation, native plant selection, and integrated pest management (IPM).

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, site plans, and technical drawings to support accurate project execution.

  • Strong communication skills for working effectively with supervisors and team members in a busy outdoor environment.

  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing tasks, weather conditions, and shifting job priorities.

Physical & Environmental Demands:



  • Work Environment: Work is primarily performed outdoors, often exposed to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, and rain, along with environmental factors like sun, dust, pollen, and other allergens.

  • Noise Level: Frequent exposure to moderate to high noise levels from landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, blowers, trimmers, chainsaws) and surrounding job site activity. Must be able to communicate effectively in high-noise environments and utilize hearing protection where required

  • Physical Stamina: Must have the endurance to stand, walk, and move continuously on a variety of outdoor surfaces, including grass, gravel, mulch, and pavement-for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift), often in challenging weather conditions.

  • Manual Dexterity: Requires frequent use of hands and arms for operating, adjusting, and repairing landscaping tools and power equipment; handling plants and materials; and performing fine motor tasks such as equipment calibration or irrigation system checks.

  • Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to regularly lift, carry, and transport items up to 50 pounds, including landscaping materials (mulch, soil, stone), plants, tools, and equipment. Requires the ability to move efficiently between work areas and job sites to manage and assist with field operations.

  • Hazard Awareness: Regular exposure to occupational hazards, including sharp tools, power equipment, moving machinery, hot surfaces, pressurized irrigation systems, uneven or slippery terrain, and chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers.

  • Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to all company and regulatory safety standards is required. Must consistently wear and enforce the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, steel-toe or non-slip boots, and high-visibility apparel.

  • Work Hours and Shifts: Requires flexibility in work schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, depending on seasonal demand, project deadlines, or weather-related conditions.
